Meet Rabbi Ciner

Our Rabbi, Rabbi Yisroel Ciner, joined Beth Jacob in 2008. In his earlier years, Rabbi Ciner studied at the Ner Israel Rabbinical College and then, with his wife, Natalie, moved to Israel to help start the Kollel program at Neveh Zion. After a few years of study there and at other Yerushalayim institutions, Rabbi Ciner began his teaching career at Neveh Zion. In 2002, he, Natalie and their seven children, moved to New Hempstead, NY, where he was the Rabbi of Congregation Ohaiv Shalom and a teacher and administrator at the Westchester Hebrew High School. Looking to focus their energy on one place and help build a community, he and Natalie came to Irvine in 2008 with their younger children. Their other children, some married and some single, now live in Michigan, New York and Israel.

The combination of Rabbi Ciner’s warmth, teaching, guidance and leadership, coupled with Natalie’s legendary hosting and running of the Irvine Community Mikvah, has brought unprecedented energy and growth to Beth Jacob. And as Rabbi Ciner likes to say: “The best is yet to come!”.
